Guinness is brewed in 50 countries and is one of the most well-known beer brands in the world. The beer is synonymous with Irish culture Nonetheless, it is extremely popular in England and Nigeria (both countries consume more Guinness each year than Ireland). So how much alcohol is there in a pint of Guinness? I’ll show you how to find out in this article.
Guinness’s Short History
Guinness In 1759, the first batch of beer was made, and the date has been printed on every Guinness label ever since. Arthur Guinness, the founder, invested £100 he had inherited in a brewery in Leixlip. A town on the outskirts of Dublin. Within a few years, he relocated to the now-famous St James’ Gate, where he began brewing Guinness. Guinness was ultimately shipped to the United Kingdom after ten years. Porter, Stout, and Extra Stout were the three beers made. Foreign Stout was manufactured a few years later for export to the United Kingdom.
It may come as a surprise that Arthur Guinness was a pro-Unionist protestant, given how closely Guinness is associated with Irish culture and history. In fact, until the 1960s, Guinness refused to hire Catholics! Workers were informed that if they wanted to marry a Catholic, they should resign.
That’s the strange thing about long-running businesses: they usually start out one way and finish up going in a completely opposite path! Guinness is a terrific illustration of Irish traditions today, and it’s difficult to dispute with that. Foreign dignitaries, notably the British Royal Family, nearly always manage a picture op with a pint of Guinness. What do you think Arthur would think about that?
